Razine Lp(a) mogu se odrediti jednostavnom krvnom pretragom koja se ne treba raditi natašte. Nije potrebno gensko testiranje.

Što je Lp(a) i zašto je važan?

Lp(a) ili lipoprotein(a) je posebna čestica koja prenosi masnoće u krvi. Građena je kao LDL (“loš” kolesterol) s dodatno vezanim proteinom apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)]. Ta kombinacija daje Lp(a) osobine koje utječu na stvaranje ateroskleroze i na procese zgrušavanja i upale.

Rezultati pretrage

Lp(a) se u laboratorijima izvještava u nmol/L ili u mg/dL, a “povišenim” se često smatra vrijednost >105-125nmol/L (50 mg/dL), uz varijacije među laboratorijima i smjernicama.
